GOLF: New leaders in Pauls Butchers Spring League
Team Nine of Stephen Radcliffe, Paul Maxwell, Stephen Moran and Niall Cassidy have accumulated 567 points from their six best cards.
They lead the way by eleven points from Team Six with the chasing pack in close contention making for a very interesting finish to the Qualifying, with three rounds to play as the teams chase one of the eight qualifying places on offer in the Match Play.

Hide AdTeam Six of John Logue, Cormac Cassidy, Albert Gurney and Kieran Duffy have 556 points, while Team 7 of Robert Ewing, David Wilson, Declan Ryan and Brendan Gallagher are a point behind currently sitting in third spot.
Week 18 and the penultimate counting competition in the Foyle Sunday Society Golfer of the Year competitions saw a large turnout on a fine day.
The scoring reflected the pleasant playing conditions as Sunday Society Skipper Michael Henry (16) returned to form with an excellent winning score of 44 points with his playing partner Damien Ball (16) finishing second after a two way 43 points break of tie with third placed Steve Moore (15).
The Easter Egg competition winners were Gerald Harkin, Peter Roddy and David Hudson.

Hide AdPauls Butchers Spring League and Easter Egg competitions continue daily, while another big crowd is expected for the Sunday Society competition this weekend.
Meanwhile with a vast improvement in the weather, Eamon McCourt (8) took full advantage of the conditions, producing a marvellous total of 37 points to win at City of Derry on Sunday.
Runner up on the day and two points behind was Andy McFaul (8) with Eddie Porter (11) in third spot.
Played in very difficult conditions and with a score of 35 points playing off a 10 handicap, this weeks confined stableford competition winner was Stephen Orr with Richard Hamilton one point behind and the in form Ally Duncan taking third place.
The evergreen Terry Coyle (4) came out on top in last weeks Thursday’s Society.
