Ballymena Council is calling on Transport Minister Danny Kennedy for a “full safety review” of a section of the ‘Antrim line’.

At the latest monthly meeting of the local authority, Cllr Declan O’Loan formally proposed, seconded by Cllr Beth Adger, that Council should write to the Minister requesting a review of the dual carriageway stretching from the Seven Towers roundabout to Dunsilly Roundabout which had recently been the scene of a fatal collision.

Mr O’Loan had initially raised the matter at a committee meeting when he said a deep engineering analysis of the route, including an accident history examination, needed to be carried out.
